Lake of Casoli (Province of Chieti)

The lake is located in the middle of rolling green hills, surrounded by olive groves and high grounds with holly oaks and the majestic Majella with the tower of Prata overlook the lake.

It is an artificial lagoon, created in 1958 with the barrier of Aventino river. It preserves an interesting flora (Typha minore) and it is rich in fauna (grebe, kingfisher, mallard, coot, moorhen, white-throated dipper, grey wagtail, heron, stork and cormorant)

The area is usually windy.
